International cooperation in criminal matters

Society is constantly changing and crime has become increasingly complex and international. This has resulted in more legal cooperation on criminality across borders.

Swedish prosecutors assist prosecutors in other countries in criminal investigations that take place abroad. This may for example involve interviewing persons in Sweden. Correspondingly, help from abroad is often required in Swedish criminal investigations.

The cooperation also include participation in various international networks and organisations for prosecutors. The most important is Eurojust, which consists of prosecutors from all EU countries.
